Loud Radio - a message from the team
Hello, we are the Key 2 Radio team!
Going on the Key 103 Media Bus was a really good experience. We discussed what the jobs included and then got to work on different tasks to show our skills. 12 out of 40 students were chosen to spend the day at Key 103 to create the Key 2 Radio.
When we arrived, the team at the studios gave us a mini tour of the building. We were shown awards that the radio had won, signed pictures of celebrities and the other radio stations that broadcast there. After having a chat with the team, we got into our groups: presenters, news presenters, marketing and creative writing. There, we discussed what we were going to be doing in the next two days. Marketing and creative writing team arranged a name and a slogan for the station. They came up with: Loud Radio, the voice of Mile End. The news presenting team got to work organising and editing local news stories to present on the radio. The radio presenters started to think about what they were going to talk about whilst on air. They interviewed Chelsea from Key 103’s breakfast show and asked her about her job and role she played whilst on air.
The marketing and creative writing team then started to put together the radio show. They created and edited two adverts: one for the radio show and one for a topic of their choice. They also got the chance to use, a popular voice over, Guy Harris, who you will know off the X Factor. He read back the script which was recorded and also showed off his impressions to the team.
With both adverts recorded half the team began editing the dialogue and adding sound effects, whilst the other half went off to take pictures of the studio to show everyone back at school.
Now we are going to try and create radio shows to broad cast online. You will be able to listen to podcasts, look at pictures of us in the studios and post comments about what you think. Feed back is much appreciated and if you have any requests don’t hesitate to ask!
From all the team at Loud Radio!:-)
